The data collection plan is used to systematically structure and standardize data collection in a project. It is a kind of work instruction according to which the data is collected by the team. It does not contain the data itself.
The data collection plan shows that the data is collected over a period of one month and the data sources are heterogeneous. It should be considered whether a project can be derived from this in the future to unify the data sources.
Usage in AlphadiTab
- Select the "Data Collection Plan" in Measure Phase
- Set as type "Standard" (The data collection plan now contains only the essential columns.)
- Specify the number of rows.
- Press Create Worksheet.
A team that is to collect the data must be defined. The team should be composed in such a way that the members know how the data is generated and where to find it.
Feature = the name of the measurement to be recorded.
Data type = a data type such as continuous, discrete, nominal, or ordinal. This helps determine which charts are suitable for analysis and how the data can be summarized and further processed.
Purpose = the purpose of this measurement.
In this example, it was determined how the data is collected by the OPEX team to later display it in a dashboard.
